my high school history teacher told our class about a time when he was young and the news was filming the riots in detroit in the 60s. he was down town and everything was normal. the news showed up and encouraged people to break windows and start some fires so they could get some footage. he said people wanted to be on tv so they started rioting.
i've always hated the news and thought much of it is biased, fake, and insincere. that was the beginning of this song. the rest of the verses followed shortly after. i had to totally re write verse 3 to update it but thanks to youtube, and the reality tv movement it didn't take long.

this was the first beat i bought from pumpkin foot. he told me he'd just give it to me. i insisted to pay for it and so he sent me this one that i paid for and two others free. that dude is the man.
