about

in 2006 i was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. blah. i was very very close to dying. i was prescribed a lot of drugs. some helped a little but caused other symptoms. some made it much worse. every doctor i ever visited scoffed at the idea that a change in diet could aid in getting me well again. i was told over and over that drugs are the only way and i would have to be on them for the rest of my life.....even though they were making my symptoms worse!

we as patients blindly trust physicians way too much. most of them are so narrow minded that they will only accept the practice of medicating as the sole source of treatment. many of the drugs prescribed cause other symptoms which require more drugs. it can become an endless cycle. ask your grandma how many pills per day she has to take and how healthy she feels.

i wrote the 3rd verse in this song after reading an article about how stevie nicks was falsely diagnosed by a doctor and given a medication that gave her horrible side effects. the rest of the song is about my own personal experience with being overly medicated, some side effects i dealt with, the medical industry, and big pharma (the drug companies). the erie beat from logix is one of my favorites and i thought the concept fit the track nicely. tom stanley dropped the amazing bass line that took the song to a new level. it is probably my favorite track on the album.

as a kid growing up i rarely ever went to the doctor. (my arm could be hanging out of it's socket and my dad would be like, "go outside and play.") thanks pops.

thanks grammy. thanks stevie. peace to all of the medical field who dare to think outside of the medicine cabinet. thanks to logix for an amazing beat. thank you to my brother tom stanley. thank you to my health food researching wife. because of her i am drug free and healthy again.
