i wrote the first draft of my two verses when i was in my band red letter anthem. when the band broke up i thought it only fitting to revisit it being that we never recorded it. i switched up a bunch of the lines but the gist is the same.

manchild is one of my favorite emcees. i had a chance to do a few shows and record a track with him around 2003 when i was part of the lifeliners. sadly my verse was cut from that track when the lifeliners and i parted ways. so i had always wanted to do another track with him. but dude is mad busy. and mad expensive for a broke emcee like me.

luckily he ran a special for a verse that was within my budget and here it is. i wrote the hook about a year before even talking to manchild, and in it i used a line from his verse in a song titled dog eared page from the mars ill album propain. (we makin gutter music too hot to ever be denied.) i thought it was cool that he picked that beat out of the bunch i sent to him not knowing that i had used a piece of his song for inspiration of my own. i guess it was destiny. ha ha.
