i wrote most of this song around 2005 but never had music to it. i bought this beat from othello in 2008 and thought the two would go together nicely. 5 years is too long to sit on an idea.
song is about the blood sweat and tears that go into making music. vrs 1 is about the blood, vs2 is about the sweat, and vrs 3 is about the tears.
peace to my friend dawn for the line is verse two inspired by a childhood story of her dad making her do a back handspring after she had just broken her wrist so she wouldn't be afraid to do them anymore. no, he didn't know it was broken... and no, she doesn't do back handsprings anymore.
